Fabulous Girls Day!

This past Friday my mom and I took the day off and went to Nashville shopping and to see a concert that night. For those that understand our shopping habits, it will be no surprise where we went. Our first stop was at Dickson Super Goodwill. We had heard about this Goodwill being great... it wasn't so "super" after all, but it was fun seeing some different junk. Our next stop was to the T.J. Maxx at Cool Springs. It was sooooo much better than the one in Jackson. We then went on to Joanne's. This was actually my first experience with Joanne's (Hobby Lobby on crack)... oh I will be making special trips to this craft store. Last, but not least, we found a Marty and Liz's shoe store. This is a second hand store that I loved in Murfreesboro. We then went to Brentwood Baptist Church to see the Christian group, Selah. They are our favorite group. The concert was absolutely out of this world! We had such a fun day!

TGIF!!!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who cannot wait until Friday at 3:00 or 5 or whenever! I feel like that song, "Everybody's Working for the Weekend," everyday Monday through Friday. Please don't get me wrong... I absolutely love my job. Yes, by Thursday my patience level has diminished to about 10%, but I love coming to school every morning and seeing those cute, sweet, smiling faces. But, I love being home more.
So anyway, I was just feeling the joy of Friday at 3:00 and I thought I would share my happiness with you all who I know are feeling the same way! And, to make things a little better, it's a 3 day weekend. Thank you dear Presidents!

Winter Wonderland... Kinda

We got our first and probably only snow this year today. It was gorgeous as it was coming down hard for more than an hour this morning. This was a treat and a rare event in West TN so needless to say I was an excited little girl! Of course, I had to get out and take pictures of our house. This was the first snow in our new house. Snow makes me happy!

My Morning with Molly

Everyone... meet Molly. She is our rescue dog that we have had for a year and a half. Molly is a minature dachsund that was dumped off on our road by her previous owner. Who in the world would beat this precious dog and leave her? Anyway, when Molly walked onto our doorstep she was very thin, couldn't breathe well, very skiddish and was filthy with ticks and fleas. The vet thinks she is 11 or 12 years old. She has COPD in her lungs and congestive heart failure. It took us about 6 months to housebreak this dog and she ruined every rug we owned, but we finally made it. This leads me to my story.... Molly has been "under the weather," so she has been sleeping with Trey and I some at night. Did I mention she is spoiled and the queen of our house? Anyhoo... this morning when I got out of bed at 4:45am, I asked Molly, "Are you ready to wake up?" She told me "No," and crawled back under her blanket, not our blanket. So I went on about my business fixing my coffee and so forth, until I heard her jump of our bed. When she came to me her belly was wet. My immediate thought was, OH $H!T! I went into our bedroom and I saw little paw prints on our silkish quilt at the end of the bed. Then I noticed it. The HUGE wet spot on our down comforter. I eventually got down to the mattress pad to find it was soaking wet with pee as well. Through all this, Molly has run and buried herself in her bed because she knows what a booboo she has made. So from 5am till I ran out the door late at 7:15am I was washing and drying bedding. Happy Monday to you! I began mine with a bang!

.... continued

Ok... well, I got my closet completly organized. YAY ME! But I have one problem. We have an antique cedar chest of my great grandmother's in our bedroom. Oh yes, it is absolutely beautiful... IF you could see it. It lure's me over there to drape my clothes on it every afternoon instead of hanging them up like a good girl. I hate hanging up clothes!!!! I repeat, I hate hanging up clothes. I have two laundry baskets full of neatly folded clean clothes that I cannot force myself or Trey to put up/hang up. So they are sitting on the cedar chest with other lost clothing. Yes, my closet is great, but sooner or later there will be no clothes hanging in it because they will all be on my beautiful cedar chest. Arrrgghh!

My Wish Came True!

Well, we didn't get any snow, but school was cancelled anyway for the cold weather? How crazy! I was dumbfounded this morning after I snoozed 3 times not wanting to get up and walk around in my COLD house. My husband believes heat is not a necessity, especially when you are sleeping. It was exactly 60 degrees when I woke up this morning and looked at our fancy indoor thermostat. I slept in 2 long sleeve shirts, flannel pants and socks and I was just a lump under the covers... maybe a strand of hair sticking out from under them. Anyway, I drank my coffee for a little while, then I decided to go to Walmart in the 6 degree temperture to get the right "equipment" to organize my small closet. I, of course, spent way too much time and way too much money in there and got more things that were NOT on my list then what was actually on my list. We'll see if my closet gets organized or not today. To be continued...

BRRRRR!!!!

It is soooo cooooold here! I think the high today is 22 and the low 0. Same for tomorrow. YUK! Where is the snow to go along with it anyhoo? This kind of cold is stinks without a good snow day! Oh how I long to wake up with snow on the ground, school cancelled, and me and Molly dog cuddling on the couch with a big cup of coffee just looking out the window at the gorgeous beauty of it all. Aaaahhhh how nice it would be!

Ok... I'm not even sure where to start or what in the heck to write. My mom is completely addicted to reading strangers blogs and looking at their cute, funky pictures. I have a few friends that are bloggers, and I always love reading them, so I said, "Why not?" So therefore, I am now an official "blogger." I do not lead an exciting life at all, so I apologize if I am boring you now or for the many times in the future as I try to "blog." Welcome!
